Charles F. Grzanka

Founding Partner

Mr. Grzanka is an avid cyclist and triathlete. He is well known in the cycling community having raced at the national Masters level in criterium, road and mountain bike races. He has been regularly asked to speak in the Midwest and elsewhere in the country on cycling advocacy issues including safety and accident prevention. His passion for the sport of cycling, decades of knowledge and experience gained as a racer and cycling advocate are utilized to directly benefit his clients. It is this rare combination of cycling expertise, a prevalent reputation among the cycling community and his extensive legal experience that brings a uniquely beneficial perspective to each client’s claim.

Mr. Grzanka received his B.A. degree from the University of Michigan before graduating from Wayne State Law School. He is a member of the Grand Rapids Bar Association, Michigan Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Michigan Self Insurers Association. He is past chairman of the Young Lawyers’ Section of the Grand Rapids Bar Association, a member of the Michigan State Bar Association section of Negligence, a member of the American Bar Association Committee on Employer’s Liability, and a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association.

Mr. Grzanka is the founder and president of the law firm of Grzanka Grit McDonald. He has practiced law for more than 39 years, representing both insurance companies and injured individuals throughout the entire state of Michigan and in numerous other states. Mr. Grzanka has bench and jury trial experience in a number of areas including cycling or bicycle crash litigation, personal injury, medical issues, handicap discrimination, wrongful termination, breach of contract, construction, commercial disputes, and product liability.

Mr. Grzanka is a past member of the International Society of Primerus Lawyers and has been regularly selected for admission by the A.M. Best Company for inclusion in its national Directory of Recommended Attorneys. He has also been featured in the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers as having received the highest (AV) rating in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and having been designated as outstanding in his field. In addition to lectures and seminars throughout the United States, Mr. Grzanka has also lectured in Asia on issues of product liability and litigation.

Randall R. Grit


Mr. Grit received his B.S. degree, with high distinction, from Ferris State University before graduating from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, cum laude. He is a member of the Grand Rapids Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan.

Mr. Grit has over 25 years of experience representing self- insured employers and insurance companies throughout the State of Michigan. Mr. Grit has developed an expertise in the development of creative and effective strategies for resolving large loss and other difficult claims, including, but not limited to, claims filed following a plant closure. Mr. Grit also has experience in other areas of the law including personal injury, commercial litigation, contract disputes, product liability, wrongful termination claims and cycling crash matters.

Michael P. McDonald


Mr. McDonald received his B.S. degree with high distinction from Ferris State University before graduating from the Detroit College of Law, where he was an Editor on the Law Review and a published author. He is a member of the Grand Rapids Bar Association, American Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan.

Mr. McDonald has extensive experience in the area of workers' disability compensation, Michigan No-Fault litigation, casualty, property, arson and fraud defense. Mr. McDonald has extensive trial experience at the administrative, state and federal levels. He previously served as a Senior Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Muskegon County. He has handled appellate matters up to the Federal Circuit Court and Michigan Supreme Court levels. Mr. McDonald has represented injured victims form cycling bike crashes throughout Michigan.
