What’s Cadence Power Cycling Training

If you’re just setting foot in to the fascinating sport of road cycling, you may well hear the phrase ‘cadence cycling training‘ and not get what it means. It is just rider lingo meaning how typically the pedal turns completely in sixty seconds.

You’ll also see it referred to as RPM or revolutions per minute. That’s an area where persons new to cycling fail to comprehend the importance. Your cadence is the energy unleashed. It’s that smooth stroke that some grasp the energy of and it makes them winners.

Some of the professional cyclists and those who’ve been riding for years-can keep a cadence going of 100 rpm without any strain at all. Beginners commonly begin out below 70 rpm.

How rapidly you possibly can pedal and how long you’ll be able to withstand the strain will really depend on how well you are conditioned physically. Obviously, you do not would like to jump on the bike if you are a beginner and pedal difficult and nonstop. That is a positive strategy to injure those leg muscles.

Think of cadence as the energy inside the muscle that forces the bike to propel forward. You want to study all you are able to about cadence and you intend to discover how you can time it using the pedal revolutions.

You would like to build cadence power cycling training and one approach to that would be to be sure you master pedaling skills. You can’t master something should you do not know the way to do it right. So get hooked up with a program that can show you what road cycling is all about.

To fully grasp cadence, you’d need to go to the law of physics. The amount of force employed to make an object move determines how quick it’ll go and how lengthy it can maintain the same level of speed.

But throw in much more pedal revolutions per minute and it is possible to end up with exactly the same distance traveled as the guy who doesn’t pedal as much but uses much more strength. Cyclists typically use several levels of cadence to strengthen their capability to go the distance.

What cadence cycling Training can teach you is tips on how to use intervals of low and quickly cadence. You’ll be able to also study the best way to focus on race training if that is your ultimate goal. For instance, 1 of things you will discover is that in case you plan to race, you need your training cadence to match your race cadence.

You will find out the way to pace your cadence to ensure that you don’t fall to the ‘all or nothing’ mentality during a race. The steady force is what wins in this sport and you get that steady force through learning the best way to handle your cadence.

A Really Really Big 84 Year Cycle Is About To Begin Again. Hold on to your Rollercoaster!

Astro Symbolism of Uranus

Uranus is a mighty big planetary player. Astronomically, it spends 7 years in each sign. 12 signs times 7 years equals 84 years. It has just spent 7 years in Pisces. Uranus is moving into Aries to spend 7 years there.

A general word to describe Uranus’s impact is “change”. You might have heard that in a political campaign. But as people have discovered that is a mighty big word that is highly nonspecific. Change toward what? That can mean a hundred different things. But one thing change is NOT, is a maintaining of the status quo.

Think of Uranus this way: When Uranus moves into a new sign, that is a significator that someone is going to have to wake up and answer the alarm clock in a new way. At an individual level, it pertains to your horoscope and its placement in your chart. The Habit of Existence causes stronger and stronger formation. If things were to never change, they would harden into rock. Growth would not occur. So, change means that the cycles that abound are all signifying that new things will be happening, and habit being what it is, it usually comes when we don’t want it. When we are most comfortable. The longer things continue in a habitual state, the more change will seem to be drastic, revolutionary and frankly just upsetting, when forces of change make themselves felt.

From Habit to Chaos to Creativity

Uranus in our solar neighborhood symbolizes that new forms will be created, people will feel a sense of chaotic disorder, and they will have to respond with creativity. Of course, this is the way of things and our human way of seeking stasis means that we naturally seek change very little, until we are bored. However because change is cyclical, and we grow as a species through natural phasic changes, it is our lot to go through change, until finally we greet death, the change that we don’t physically recover from. Our creative response to oncoming death, as humans, is to prepare for it at a number of levels. So, in the end, even though mortality grips us, we still mount creative responses as individuals and as cultures and societies.

Uranus is also known for revolutionary change, especially in technology. New technology is the unceremonious burying of old inventions for the arrival and excitement and usefulness of new inventions. The word “creative destruction” has been coined because in order to bring new things to the fore, old things have to be discarded, destroyed or parked in our back yards.

When Uranus is in Aries

From the world of science, one can note the following notable issues that have happened during Uranus in Aries.

Hydrogen discovery – Henry Cavendish – 1766
Energy conservation law: first law of thermodynamics – Joule – 1843
Measurement of light’s speed – Fizeau – 1849
First particle accelerator – 1928 – Wideroe

The Period of 1926 to 1934

In 1926, the movies went “talkie” with the “vitaphone” a disk that went along with the film. Eventually modern “talkies” arose around 1930. The period from 1926 to 1934 might make people think of the Great Depression, and I am not predicting another one, though it certainly could be predicted, and is being predicted by certain prognosticators. However, also during this time, armies and navies around the world “modernized” at virtually every level, from small arms to airplanes. And of course, all this while nuclear energy was being researched and developed to have its fulfillment as a military tool in the 40’s. Hitler came to power during this period. So, anyone sitting around thinking the next 7 years are going to be sublime, might have a surprise or two with their morning paper and latte.

Revolution or something akin to that word is called for astrologically. Why? Aries is the number one, put-you-on-your-butt sign in the zodiac. The first burst of spring time and just aching, and I mean aching for change. So put Uranus, the planet of change and revolution in Aries the sign of change and revolution in action, and we are probably looking at a new “news cycle”. Think of places around the planet that are potentially prey to revolution. And then think of those places around the globe that might be seeing “public unrest”, if not downright, actual, formal, in-your-face REVOLUTION. So, in order to understand this information, don’t just think of the actual word revolution, think rather of social turbulence, political popping, cultural boiling, or if not boiling, percolating.

Uranus was in Aries in the 1760’s in America. Resistance to British policies was building in the American colonies and Americans with small numbers and little actual wealth and no real weaponry, apart from their hunting weapons, actually started contemplating resistance to the largest military power in the world.

1848 – “The Year of Revolutions” - Uranus was in Aries

Study this year for its fits and starts and uprisings and movements and efforts at change. It is probably a time that displays the topic of this article more than anything else. Public sentiment and popular unrest were emphasized at this time. Not noted for great success, the fact that it is called the “year of revolutions” makes the point.

In and Out, Back and Forth.

The planets in reference to the earth have a way of retrograding and moving forward as the movements are constantly changing their apparent place in the sky, as we on earth also move. You will see Uranus go in and out for the next few months, and then move completely into Aries in March 2011 for the full 7 years.

June 8 – This is a Big One – Jupiter and Uranus Conjunct

These two planets will be conjunct. (Right Together) on June 8. Lots of people are predicting lots of things, but no one knows. Just keep your eyes peeled and note if anything happens in your life. As I am want to do, I always say: “These things are happening to everybody”, or in a more obscure fashion: “Everybody has everything somewhere.” The point is that the individual can make their own assessments about these things and check them out, with your heart, your temperature, your psyche and your loved ones.

For the world events, check out the news. So, to follow the title: Get Ready. Since these days, everyone seems to be “ready”, let’s treat each other with the utmost respect. That advice always works.  Christofer French is the Founder of Astrologygetalong.com.   Get in touch there.

The Cycles of Life

“In all things there is a law of cycles.”

- Publius Cornelius Tacitus (55-117 AD, Roman Historian)

Its hard to conceive of a business that’s as fulfilling as life coaching. Helping people to reach for their dreams is about as meaningful as it gets.

The best clients are very often those who lack a little self-belief or the tools to help them realise their true potential, while being blessed with a generally positive disposition. For these people, personal growth can often be exponential when they come to terms with their own power.

Far more challenging for the life coach are those clients who feel they’ve hit the bottom of a cycle and can see no way out. Such people are often convinced that life is out to get them – that nothing can go right no matter how hard, or what, they try.

Sprouting on about the power of positive thinking is rarely the best way for a coach to gain the respect of someone who thinks that a higher power has got their number.

A more effective approach, in my view, is to try and help the client understand that a cycle is, after all, just that – a cycle. By definition, cycles have bottoms and tops. The trick is to shift the client’s outlook away from the short-term ‘here and now’ and the pain they are currently experiencing, towards the longer-term and what could be.

After all, isn’t it true that nothing in life is permanent? Isn’t it true that we all experience ‘up’ and ‘down’ cycles in our lives – even if the amplitude of the ups and downs differs, sometimes markedly, from one human being to another?

One of my favourite books – and one that I credit for having got me started on a new journey in life – is Graham Hancock’s bestseller, ‘Fingerprints of the Gods’ in which he presents compelling evidence for the existence of ancient yet highly advanced civilizations on Earth many thousands of years ago.

I first read Fingerprints of the Gods some twenty years ago. The whole book intrigued me enormously but my imagination was particularly triggered by his explanation of a phenomenon called ‘precession’.

Prior to reading Hancock’s work I had, like everyone else, known that the Earth spins relentlessly on its axis, taking 24 hours from sunrise to sunrise and that the Earth orbits the sun in never-ending cycles, each lasting just over 365 days.

What I was completely unaware of was the existence of another, far lengthier, grand cycle that slowly plays out as the Earth continues its heavenly dance around the centre of our solar system. That cycle – the precessionary cycle – is caused by a very slight ‘wobble’ that exists in the Earth’s axial rotation.

Imagine for a moment the Earth’s axis as a huge kebab stick piercing the globe through the poles and around which the Earth is constantly rotating. Now imagine that, due to a tiny wobble, the ends of the kebab stick itself are describing a small circle as they rotate, very slowly, in a direction opposite to the rapid spin of the Earth. (Anyone who has ever nudged a rapidly spinning gyroscope will know what I mean).

This effect is called precession and the precessionary cycle takes – wait for it – a full 26,000 years to play itself out! As it does so, we experience a change, so gradual as to be imperceptible, in our view of the star systems on our horizon. Incredibly, this almost unnoticeable wobble results in the introduction of a different astrological age every 2,100 years or so!

As I write, we are on the cusp of two astrological ages as we painstakingly transition from Pisces into Aquarius.

So, what exactly does my brief ‘foray’ into the world of astrology have to do with life coaching?

Well, the point I want to make is that our lives are regulated by cycles – from ‘blink-of-the-eye’ in duration to unimaginably long. The point of these cycles, to my mind, is to present us with variation or contrast within an overall framework of constancy.

That might sound like something of a contradiction – but imagine a world without cycles. It would be completely static, without variation and with a constancy that was permanent, never ending and mind numbingly boring.

I risk serious understatement when I say that our universe and our world is a fascinating and amazing place. The cyclical nature of our environment offers us excitement and opportunity through the access it provides to unlimited variety. At the same time we are provided with the comfort and reassurance that comes with knowing change is never permanent.

Take time out to explore and appreciate how every aspect of your life is governed by cycles and you will ultimately lose your fear of change. Instead, you will embrace and welcome it in the knowledge that no matter how much things change, they still stay the same.

Swimmers who try to fight strong currents eventually lose their energy and perish. Those who allow themselves to be swept along with the currents become effortlessly transported to a calmer place from where they can use their conserved energy to find their way safely back to shore.

The cycles of life are like currents in the sea. Fight the changes they present and you’ll quickly be sapped of your energy and will to live. Embrace the opportunity for change, however, and you’ll soon find new horizons opening up in a surprisingly reassuring way.
