Know Your Rights with League of Michigan Bicyclists' New Video

If you can’t quite get yourself to dig deep into a long legal document, don’t worry. The League of Michigan Bicyclists launched a blockbuster to help keep you informed and aware of your rights on the road as cyclists.

The League of Michigan Bicyclists has been a strong advocate for cycling in our state for decades. Their mission is to educate all road users and to push for safe, inclusive, and growing opportunities for bicyclists of all kinds. With more Michiganders than enjoying time in the saddle, it’s a crucial time to not only welcome these new riders but to help inform them of their rights and responsibilities on the road.

Even experienced cycling commuters and athletes may be uninformed about even some of the basic rules of the road. The more we educate ourselves, the better we can represent the cycling community as a whole. As an added bonus, we may produce more effective and positive interactions with motorists and more traction when it comes to change.

The ten-minute video is an extremely effective tool in clearly and succinctly offering a wealth of information in an accessible format. Another important thing to note comes in the description of the video. Notice just how many donors invested in this video to make it possible. Right now, non-profit advocacy groups across the state and around the country are facing dire budget shortfalls that threaten their very existence, not to mention the high quality of work they do.

If there’s a cycling advocacy group like League of Michigan Bicyclists or others that you rely on, consider making any donation that you can during these difficult times.
